Bleicherweg is home to some of Zürichs busiest coffee bars, including Bar Nocciolina. With its Italian flair, this little bar is making its mark in this coffee city. Will the espresso here be my sunshine on a cloudy day, or will I be singing a different song? I brushed the sleep from my eyes and strolled in ready for the first caffeine hit for the day.
Atmosphere: Napoli. This small, cosy bar has a relaxed, la vita e bella kind of vibe. The pictures on the wall of the italian ‘prince of laughter’ Toto‘ are a nice touch and give this place the Italanità of bella Napoli. The local radio is playing softly in the background, the morning paper is waiting to be read and there is the sweet smell of coffee in the air! A nice relaxing way to start the day. Take a seat at the bar like one of the regular customers, or a comfortable table seat by the windows ready for some people watching. Stop at Nocciolina for breakfast, lunch or an after work apero, you will be sure to get good food and friendly, welcoming service. When you visit, be sure to ask the Barista about the meaning of the Neapolitan saying on the plaque by the bar…I like it!

The espresso here screams out ‘Femmena’ – it had beautiful layer of cream, a sweet, nutty aroma and a lovely strong dark chocolate look.. all the powers of female seduction in one little tazzina. This espresso will draw you in and as you taste her, she will leave you with that soft, delicate bitter bite to make sure that she is not easily forgotten. Trained Barista, Ilaria, ensures that she gets the best out of her beautiful Brasilia coffee machine and the espresso blend Caffen which comes direct from Napoli. Served with a little Amaretto and glass of water, it’s an espresso experience that will satisfy that coffee craving.
